Izzy Charman
Writer - Producer - Researcher
I am an award-winning producer, writer and research consultant. I specialize in history but have worked in many genres, across TV, film and publishing.
I read history at Bristol University, graduating in 2003 with a first class degree and the History prize.
Since then, I have worked in TV and film, developing & making factual films & drama-docs for UK, US & European broadcasters, as well as feature documentaries for international cinema release. I have worked for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Film4, the BFI, History, Nat Geo, Arte, and ZDF. I also do research and story development for feature films and drama series, both in development and production.
In 2014, I wrote my first non-fiction book to accompany the BAFTA-nominated ITV series that I produced, The Great War: The People’s Story. My second book is on the founding and early years of London Zoo and is published by Penguin (Viking) in the UK and Pegasus in the US. I am represented by United Agents (LINK here).
